Open Mic: Publishing You!

Shortlink
An offer to my friends to host your articles. Publishing on my site will provide a wider reach than you'll get on a new blog, and I handle the complex stuff

Here’s my simple offer: If you’d like to write an article on my website, and a few requirements are met, then you may do so.

My website, though not exactly a bustling internet hub, will give you a greater voice than you could achieve on a brand-new blog. You’ll also have the benefit that I’ll be managing the site itself, you can just worry about what you write. Think of it as automatic cross-promotion.

Because at least some trust is required for me to safely allow this, the offer is only open to those people I already trust sufficiently. However, if you’re already experienced with writing articles (and can prove it), then I’ll certainly consider you as well.

This idea has already been successful – Atheist Pinup has written two articles, which had a different writing style from mine, and helped to flesh out the site. She may write some more again in future, but hasn’t for a while. I’m encouraged by that success to let it happen again.

When published, your post will appear exactly as my posts do, likely being top of the front page for a few days. The front page uses a complex sorting algorithm, so that’s not guaranteed.

The publishing process will require confirmation from me.

The requirements are as follows:

  • Aforementioned trust standards
  • You have a good command of the English language
  • You’ll be neat and conservative with creating drafts and other objects
  • You’ll fill out some extra fields for each post (description, tags, category, URL, image, etc.)
  • You write within the same subject areas as already existing website content

All of these will be very easy for almost everyone, don’t be daunted by any of them.

Contact me to get things started.
